Preserving batik is important because it has a connection with the country history. Not only that, it was also created by many people ideas and many form of characteristics. Batik Yogyakarta was an authentic form of batik that still kept its originality until now, and most importantly still used and appreciated in present. Preserving Batik Yogyakarta or other Batik was very important. Many people only see the pattern of batik and did not really appreciate the history of the batik itself. If we could preserve batik and change people minds to appreciate batik now and in the future, other upcoming generations would be able to see and learn about batik too. It was a matter of education where we really need to appreciate and understand that it was actually part of the past civilization that could help others predict or do researches about former civilizations that had inhabit Indonesia and brought development that makes Indonesia a better country. In general I want batik to be appreciated by Indonesia local people as their cultural and traditional clothing.
